A visit to my office is a healing experience. Hopefully, our interaction will lead my patients to enhance their lifestyle with healthy choices.

I like spending a lot of time with people in my office. Besides patiently listening to someone’s concerns, I enjoy teaching about being healthy and the nature of illness. I want people to know how to pursue total well-being and how to prevent medical problems.

The goal is to live a healthy life.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome, also known as Spastic Bowel, is the most common gastrointestinal aliment. Although it is not life threatening, it can be interfere with the victim’s life as a minor nuisance or a disabling disease. Some people live with it and others suffer from it. Many people are not even aware that they have it.

The symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome span the gastrointestinal tract. From sores in the mouth to burping to heartburn to bloating to diarrhea to constipation to hemorrhoids, Irritable Bowel Syndrome can affect a localized section of the gastrointestinal tract. It can also involve the whole tube. Of course, any of these symptoms could be a sign of a more serious disease. As a Medical Doctor, I am an expert in helping you to sort out the nature of your problem.

Many people are given a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome because the history and physical and lab results support this conclusion and rule out other considerations. The traditional assumption is that this illness just appears and needs to be treated. Like other doctors, I may order testing to help formulate my opinion. The treatment involves dietary, including fiber, and various medicines to control the symptoms.

But there is so much more that can be done to alleviate the discomfort, inconvenience, and life-altering intrusions of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The gastrointestinal system has a unique internal environment that needs active maintenance to stay healthy. Like everything else in the body (in the world), G-I health is a fragile balance of many factors.

One of these factors is the food we eat and our unique sensitivities to these foods. Another is the balance of the various components that comprise the intrinsic milieu of the gut. Your overall health and physical conditioning also influence bowel well-being. A person’s state of mind powerfully impacts the function of the G-I tract [as it affects all potential and expressed illnesses]. None of these factors should be ignored or minimized.

My approach to the problem of Irritable Bowel Syndrome is distinctive because I consider and advise on all aspects of the disease. I have more to offer therapeutically than just the traditional medical approach. We will bring health to your body and your gut by dealing on the many levels that one becomes less than healthy. I will teach you about your problem and help you find a solution. Irritable Bowel Syndrome becomes a problem because of a multitude of possible reasons. These can be addressed and progress toward a cure can begin.

Like so many of the afflictions to which we are susceptible, there is reason for hope. This hope is the foundation of my caring for you.
